Pulp line for production of thermo mechanical pulp
On December 1st 2008 a new pulp line was inaugurated in Braviken. The investment means that existing cutting edge technology combined with newly developed equipment will be tried out on a full scale for the first time. The investment will replace a 30-year-old production unit. The pulp is used to produce newsprint and special printing paper.
The Braviken sawmill
Braviken Sawmill headed by Holmen Timber will manufacture structural timber from spruce. The mill is planned for 2010. Its principal markets will be Scandinavia and the UK. Sales will also take place to the rest of Europe, Japan and the USA.
Transports
The bulk of Braviken's output is exported, primarily to European newspapers and only 10% remains in Sweden. The main part of Braviken transports goes via the paper mill harbour, by the five boats owned by Holmen Paper. A small part of the transports goes by truck and train.
