True or false?

"Electronic communication is more eco-friendly"

Fact: It’s easy to believe that, but the internet makes a clear mark on the environment. Two billion video clips are shown daily on YouTube, corresponding to emissions of 4 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide – every single day. Server rooms around the world are responsible for two per cent of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions – the same amount as generated by air traffic in its entirety.

A home computer produces two per cent of a household’s annual carbon dioxide emissions. This means 495 kg per year. The mail a household receives each year makes up just 0.1 per cent of its emissions, which in terms of carbon dioxide is 14 kg per year.
